The Sailing Blog Starting Over Means Standing Still

The sailing blog starting over does not always mean that everything falls into place all at one time or that the process is easy.

"Sometimes there are detours."

This past month we have been moving personal items to new locations, moving items onto the sailboat for cruising, website office moved also...

Are you tired yet?

Detour!

In this whole process of moving everything Art needs to go in and have an operation. Recovery time will be four to six weeks, with Art kicking and screaming the whole time, he can't stay still.

We have found a marina to put the mast up, but we decided to hold off until after the operation.

I know, I know it's about time I told you what was going on...

Even though we have not moved the boat there is still plenty on our to do list, work like finish carpentry for one, making sure our boat refrigerator is
going to stay cold (for Shhhhh!, Breyers ice cream). Remember we have that built in refrigerator, were testing everything before we need it.

Also changing out the float switch in the galley sink, the turtle in my back yard runs faster than that sink...

This time of year here in Florida the heat is beginning to rise. The summer heat can cook you in a minute.

Boat air conditioning in Magic Dragon is being worked on, any day now it will feel like Alaska inside the boat...Call me a wimp, but working for years during the summers months here I sweated so bad that the grinding aluminum dust layered my arms like a fur coat. Not such a pretty sight on a blonde women.

We were hanging around the marina raising the back waterline up on the transom. The waterline on the rest of the boat was fine.

Around Palatka, Florida the place we call home, there is going to be a Blue Crab Festival. I'll be sending links regarding this event. You can easily reach this festival by boat, it's on the good old St. Johns river.

Other then that, things are normal except for this poor person who got hit by a pelican in Florida...Who would have thought? The sailing blog May 14, 2008 Titled, The many dangers lurk on water-even pelicans... pelican story

I also want to mention a website that I am enjoying called duck works, they have just featured us on their June webwatch, we have the third and fourth picture down. This website makes me feel normal!!! The pictures of all the C-clamps gives me the warm and fuzzies...Lets give these guys a warm welcome...Enjoy! duckworks magazine
