Jessica sights land and loot
by SEAN NICHOLLS AND LEESHA MCKENNY
She has been busy on the high seas, but for the past few months the around-the-world sailor Jessica Watson has rarely been out of contact via Skype, Twitter and Facebook. All that is set to change, however, thanks to News Limited's fondness for securing its news stories by paying for them. Watson's management company, 5 Oceans Media, has confirmed that its teenage star client has signed an exclusivity contract with Rupert Murdoch's empire. It guarantees the rest of the print media will be locked out from conducting interviews with Watson or her family from now until her expected return to Sydney in triumph on May 2. ''News Limited has exclusive access to Jessica and her family,'' said a spokeswoman, who pointed out that Channel Ten already has a similar arrangement for the television rights. The sole opportunity to throw some questions at Watson will be at an all-in press conference the day she gets home.
