Boating Women Cooking "All Hands" In The Galley?

Boating Women All Hands In The Galley?...I'm only kidding! But I got your attention, normally it's hard for us to share our kitchen space. Below, are some interesting tips that I would like to pass to you.

I would like to introduce you to Meme, we are neighbors at the marina. I have spent the past 3 years walking by Meme and Bob's boat. The home cooked meals being whipped up on their boat can leave you begging, just to stand outside the door, on the dock.

I'm going to shut up now at let Meme talk...

Meme's Keys

We have lived aboard for 23 years and I have solved the problem with weavels in my flour. Believe it or not, the key is to add bay leaves to the flour. Weavels don't like bay leaves...

I remove all my flour or any wheat grain product into a very good zip lock plastic bag. Then I remove as much air as possible and seal, don't forget to label the bag.

When you use the flour or rice, you will not be able to tell by taste, that the bay leaves are in there.

I also remove everything that has been packaged in cardboard boxes. Examples: rice, mararoni, instant potatoes, cereal

Place all the above, into plastic zip lock bags, drop a bay leaf inside, by doing this, you eliiminate paper or trash...

*reuse those zip lock bags*
